Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

HI,I recieved your message regarding your daughter. Our orthodontist Dr. Richard Novick is Board certified with more than 25 yrs of experience. He comes to our office from Texas once a month to see our ortho patients. I suggest to bring your daughter for a complimentary ortho consultation. Every orthodontist has a different method. I highly recommend Dr. Novick because he is doing my ortho treatment as well and I trust in his work. If he recommends extractions I will be performing that procedure for her. If you already have an orthodontist that you are happy with you need to bring with you the request for extractions from that office. If you feel that your daughter is anxious and wants to be sedated for this procedure we can refer her to an oral surgeon. Keep in mind that teeth in children are very easily extracted. We do accept your insurance with MGM. Please call our office for an appointment with Dr. Novick or myself. You can learn more about us on our website drjlv.comLooking forward to seeing you. Happy Holidays.Sincerely,Dr. Salmeh Jafarifar

Good news! We are in- network with your insurance plan. Remember, you should never choose your dentist based on insurance alone. Please call us so that we can tell you about our office and set up an appointment to tour the facility.Yours truly,Dr. Mark Edington

Hi here is some more advice, as I believe it is important if possible not to have permanent teeth removed or orthodontics. When these teeth are removed the upper and lower dentitions are then constricted, leaving black triangles between the corner of the mouth and the teeth, instead of a nice wide beautiful smile. I had the same recommendation for my son from one orthodontist. I felt he was taking the easy way out (easy money for him without much though or effort) I took him to Dr. Carey Noorda, one of the few board certified orthodontists in town. e treated him without extracting teeth preserving his smile the way God intended it to be. Also, he does not work in my office, he is good enough to have his own office and I get no kickbacks from him etc. He like many orthodontist, does free consults for kids. You need to get a second opinion before extractions.Best wishes,

I suggest you get a second opinion. Many times there is good reason to have teeth extracted before ortho. However, many times this is not appropriate. Not only is the smile compromised but a lifetime of migraine-like headaches may ensue. Get to an orthodontist that can explain why your daughter needs teeth extracted.
