Case Description
My name is Nicole. I am 27 yrs, old and I what I am expierencing is destroying my digestive system, causing extreme depression, and ruining my self-esteem. 8 years ago I had a child and I believe I inherited a multi-generational calcium defiency, Prior to and during my pregnancy I had basically perfect straight teeth. 2 months after my daughters birth my teeth started declining, Rapidly. My problem is that I have the money to do the necessary work, but not all of it at one time. I do not have good credit and I know that it is a set-back but there has to be someone who can help me. I am a young woman who can not smile for photos; b/c my front teeth are chipped, cracked or broken, my jaw locks up and pops ALL the time, my gums/teeth get abcest and my jaw swells. I have heard that people can die from the toxic poison that abcest contain and that terrifys me. I am an energetic, people-friendly person who never used to frown. NOW, I can not laugh out loud, smile, or do many other things that a person associates with a good smile. I take pride in my appearance and this is crippling my self-esteem. I need to fix this right away because it hurts not only physically, but also financially and mentally. I know that there is a dentist who can help me or at least point me in the right direction, please. Thank you, Nicole Dickerson

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Hi Nicole,It sounds like you have two problems. One is your teeth, the other is your temporomandibular joints (Jaw joints). The first step in your treatment should be to eradicate disease. Decay is caused by bacteria, and acid in the mouth. Proper treatment and evaluation can resolve your issues, but it is not something that can be approprately completed in one day. 1st; if teeth are un-savable they need to be extracted, If abscessed and saveable then root canals may need to be performed. All decay needs to be removed to decrease the bacterial load in your mouth. The first goal should be to insure your overall health, the second goal is function and esthetics. There is no way to know what you need or present you with options without examining you and taking some x-rays.I have extensive experience and training with this kind of thing, I would suggest you make an appointment for the "new patient special" at my office, and then I can spend the time to tell you your options and we can proceed. 702-432-9100 Dr. Glick

Hi Nicole,I''''m really sorry to hear your story. It is not uncommon for teeth to have problems during pregnancy. What you can do is call around and see if you can find a dentist that does payment plans. if you would like to come and see me, first I have to do a complete exam to find out what needs to be done and maybe we can work something out for you to get you out of pain. Hope this helps.Dr. Jafarifar702-433-0355
