Case Description
I have had two sets of dentures made and neither fit properly - gave dentist a second chance to make comfortable dentures and am still unable to wear them without pain and cannot eat....top dentures and bottom partial do not line up. I could go on and on as to how I was treated, but need to find a caring, trustworthy and experienced dentist so I can leave the house and eat. Need to find a dentist who knows what they are doing before requesting a partial refund from previous dentist. Also, had to pay a second dentist for a second opinion and he agreed that both dentures were not made correctly nor of the quality I paid for. I am having a near nervous breakdown....emotionally depressed and housebound. Is there any dentist out there that can be trusted to care about me? I am on a limited income and desperately need to find part time work and get on with my life. I am a very active 67 yrs. old and cannot begin to live again without teeth. Thank you.

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

There are a couple of reasons why you may be having difficulty getting adjusted to your dentures. If the denture was fabricated as an immediate denture, meaning that the denture was delivered to you on the day of your extractions, the fit of the denture will be a compromise over the course of several months as you are healing from the surgery. A relining of the denture after the extraction sites have healed up will better adapt the fit of the denture to your anatomy so that you can function more comfortably with the appliance. As for the problems you are describing with your lower partial, there are a number of things that could be causing your problems and I cannot address your specific issues without first looking at your case. I can however, offer you a no-cost/no-obligation consultation to meet with me and evaluate your current denture and partial and give you my professional opinion. Please give my office a call at 896-8882 and let my front desk know that you are a referral from Dr. Oogle. Paul Schwarz, DMD, MBA
